This position involves overseeing daily locomotive manufacturing operations and facility management. The manager ensures safe, timely, and cost-effective execution of production processes while meeting organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct production operations with emphasis on safety, scheduling, and quality standards
- Collaborate with engineering on design efficiency and manufacturability
- Develop and refine manufacturing workflows for operational excellence
- Coordinate material availability with the Materials Manager
- Maintain equipment, tools, and production assets in proper working condition
- Report facility performance metrics and improvement initiatives to leadership
- Provide team leadership, guidance, and performance management
- Foster safety culture through program implementation and policy compliance
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 2+ years production management experience in Transportation, Logistics, Rail Operations, or Heavy Manufacturing; OR high school diploma/GED with 5+ years managing production in locomotive shop environments
- Microsoft Office proficiency
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years locomotive shop production management experience
- 2+ years supervisory experience in related fields
Compensation: $105,000 - $120,000 annually
